Every Child Matters - Decolonizing education

On unceded Coast Salish Territories, Leadership 8 and 9 safely masked, and socially distanced walked, to the Renfrew Ravine to learn about the natural world. With both English and Socials Teachers, we were joined by Mr. Ross, Indigenous Education Teacher to apply Indigenous ways of knowing and placed based learning to this beautiful last day of September.

Decolonizing our curriculum matters because systemic racism and colonization have harmed Indigenous communities to the benefit of settlers. We are committed to learning about this history of residential schools and colonial mindsets and connecting to the land, water and air.
