Earth day 2010-20

Founded in 2010 by Windermere Leadership students, the Earth Day celebration and parade  became an annual tradition that attracts youth and community members from all over the Lower Mainland for 10 years. Every year, Leadership students continued the legacy of previous students.  Unfortunately, changes in student and staff capacity as well as changes in health and safety measures due to the global Covid-19 pandemic led to the end of this massive undertaking.

What Impact will YOU leave Behind?

Join hundreds of community members to celebrate Earth Day with us at Grandwiew park!

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and given the recent provincial announcement banning gatherings of 250 people or more, we regret to announce the cancellation of the Commercial Drive Earth Day Parade and Festival for 2020. Thank you for your understanding. We are so grateful for the amazing support we have received throughout our planning process from funders, community partners, donors, and volunteers. We hope to work with you all next year and make Earth Day 2021 happen. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at youth4climate@gmail.com or contact our sponsor teacher Ms. Petra Rempel at prempel@vsb.bc.ca

Thank you, Youth 4 Climate Justice Now.
